HOST CAFÉ FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT WHAT MAKES US ECO-FRIENDLY
The effort towards a cleaner planet is a collective one. At Host Café, we want to provide an easy way for our customers to make daily environmentally conscious decisions. Here is how you can enjoy our coffee while saving the planet.

No excuse for single use!
At Host, we have a £0.25 discount every time you purchase a coffee using your own reusable cup. Even though our paper cups are biodegradable, we are trying to reduce waste to the minimum. You don’t have a reusable cup? Not to worry. At Host, we sell Ecoffee cups so you can pick your favourite colour and enjoy the discount. Here is another good news: if you grab a coffee every day, you will have paid your cup back in just a month
Help us reduce waste
If you had your lunch break at St. Mary Aldermary, you know what a treat it is to have a quiet space to relax. We want to keep providing you with this experience, but we need your help! We provide recycling bins where you can dispose of the trash. Host café also provides you with cutlery so that you can refuse them when you get your take away lunch. In order to reduce our waste, we have now converted to glass bottles for all our soft drinks.

You are the hero!
HOST CAFÉ BEHIND THE SCENES
‘Our desire is to craft world-class coffee experiences that honour the skilled labour of our farming partners across the globe with dignity and fairness.’
To ensure we deliver exceptional coffee; we foster ethical, sustainable, long-term relationships with some of the world’s finest coffee farmers and their communities. Bailies source coffee directly from our farming partners to ensure that they get a fair deal whilst securing some of the world’s finest coffees.
Dusty Knuckle’s mission is to create a space where young people can get trained and employed with fair salaries. The bakery and its founders are focusing their actions towards youth who come from difficult backgrounds, and they do so in order to enhance their confidence and give them the opportunity to change their economic and social circumstances.
“At the Dusty Knuckle Bakery, we believe that all young people, regardless of background, should feel confident and supported in building themselves a legitimate and financially independent future. Only with genuine employment opportunities can we alter the mindset of those young people who may otherwise feel they have nothing to lose by pursuing criminality.”
‘Throughout the early years of married life I would host many get togethers with family and friends. Banana bread was always on the menu, not because of my passion for baking banana bread, but rather due to my waste-conscious mind not wanting to throw away spotty or soft bananas.
My bread started to gather super fans, convincing me this could be shared and loved by many people. After a lucky chance of supplying a friends local cafe, my business has quickly spiralled into supplying cafes all over London.
There is no mass production; each bread is individually hand crafted at my home - number 8. I get up in the early hours of the morning to bake and relish in the gifts of sunrises.
Opportunity is whisked into every batch; I am so grateful to work in an environment surrounded by incredible women. From the bakers to the driver and to the sales ladies, they each hold a valuable part of the process and together we make a powerful team.’
We are a specialist London-based tea company that offers a variety of tea blends.
We provide employment to refugees, giving them local work experience and job readiness skills to enter the UK workforce and integrate into broader society.
All of our teabags are plastic-free, our packaging is biodegradable and our teas are Organic-certified.
The Galeta story started in 2011, with a market stall stacked high with home-baked cookies.
We’ve grown a little since then but our values have never changed.
Creating in our Hackney home, we still use only the freshest natural ingredients and only bake the treats we love the most.
